Chebeague Island Community Association
CICA
CICA is now seeking tenants for its
ÒaffordableÓ house at 226 South Road
Three
bedrooms. Available August 1 or September 1. The tenant must be a
year-round resident of Chebeague.
The initial lease period will be for one year.
ÒAffordabilityÓ means that the rent will
not cost more than 28 percent of the householdÕs income. The tenant pays for the
utilities. Any year-round household is eligible that has an income less than
120 percent of the median income for a family of that size in Cumberland
County -- $55,600 for a couple,
$69,400 for a family of four.
CICAÕs
requirements, criteria and application forms are available at the Library and
on the CICA Website (go to Chebeague.org and click on CICA icon) and at the
Town Office.
Applications
will be accepted until July 15.
Send
them to Beth Howe, 168 South Road, Chebeague Island ME 04017. Then
a committee of five island people (two CICA Board members and three other
island residents) will review the applications and choose a renter. The
decision will be made by the end of July.
If
you know someone who wants to live on Chebeague year-round but cannot afford
the cost of housing, please tell them about this opportunity or put them in
touch with us.
