More Really Big Concert News!  Beth Howe and Mac Passano have single-handily produced the Free Concert Series for 18 years.  Someone once said, “Aren’t we lucky to have such wonderful music on our little island?”  It wasn’t just luck.  It was literally a labor of love, with Mac and Beth doing all of the labor and a lot of the support.  Last summer, they announced they were stepping aside and invited volunteers to take over.  Fortunately, a group has emerged to do just that and has planned a full season of concerts at the United Methodist Church.  Our most important decision so far was to rename the Free Concert Fund the MacBeth Concert Series—a play on words, a portmanteau of sorts, but most of all, a heartfelt honor for all of the musical joy they brought to Chebeague for the past 18 years.  (For more information, contact Carl Tubbesing or any of the other members of the MacBeth Concert Series committee:  Phil Jordan, Adele Gorody, Linda White, John Howard, Steve Harris, Barbara Marks and Barrie Shepherd.)

June 1, 2019 - Native son Tyler Putnam and adopted Chebeaguer Sarah Nordin, whose concerts have thrilled Chebeague audiences over the past several years, will be back on Saturday, June 1 to kick-off the new season of the MacBeth Concert Series (formerly known as the Free Concert Fund).  Tyler, Sarah and their special guests will be here in less than a month; make your plans now so you don’t miss out.  The concert will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church.
