POLLING INFORMATION FOR NOVEMBER 6 ELECTION DAY:
Polls Open: From 8:00 a.m. Until 8:00 p.m. At Island Hall
It is that time of year again where our transfer station operations are going onto a new schedule until next May. This new schedule essentially reflects a change that most of you have been previously accustomed to. Any changes have been minor to accommodate the hours and budget allocated to the transfer station attendant position.
Effective Saturday, November 3rd the new schedule will be as follows:
Days Opened: Wednesday from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Days Closed: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
CLARIFICATION ON CALLS TO COUNTY SHERIFF: In last week's "Update" a reference was made to calling the Town Administrator first with respect to any non - emergency concerns in the absence of every day sheriff's coverage. This may have caused some confusion. The sheriff's office has told us that even non-emergency or complaint calls should be made to the Sheriff's Dispatch # at 1-800-266-1444. This way the complaint is appropriately logged and then referred to the officer assigned to cover the island. As we previously stated we will have a particular officer (Joe Schnupp) routinely assigned one day week starting in early November. Any complaints called in to dispatch will be referred to him.
