Rose Marie Mackay

Rrose marieose Marie Grammy Mackay, of Plymouth, and formerly of Scituate, passed away Jan. 5, 2014.

She was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Rose (Ristuccia) Forde, born Feb. 20, 1927. She was a trend setter; the first woman walking Scituates Minot Beach with five kids in a bikini. She was a grand homemaker, delighting in feeding her family and friends her decadent clam chowder and king crab stuffed flounder. She was the owner of the Golden Sands Hotel in Hull and an independent real estate firm, Home Town USA, now owned by her grandson, Lou Eyster. Rose Marie was a successful business woman.

Her gift of love and friendship will be deeply missed. Rose Marie was the beloved wife of the late Norman E. Mackay; the cherished mother and mother-in-law of Valerie and David Mather of San Diego, Calif., Darlene Eyster and Jeff Dreyer of Denver, Colo., Kurt and Barbara Eyster of Portsmouth, R.I., Louis and Elisabeth Eyster of Norwell and Celeste and Scott Crowley of Scituate. She was the adored grandmother of Beverly, Henry, Lou, Graham, Melanie, Shauna, Mark, David, Laura, Jake, Caroline, Alex and MacKay, Summer and Scott Weston; and great-grandmother of Alexandra, Hank, Guinevere, Holden, Grace, Alice and Olivia

Funeral arrangements will be made by the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. Calling hours were held at the funeral home Wednesday, Jan. 8, from 8:30-9:30 a.m. A funeral Mass was held at St. Marys Church at 10 a.m. Interment followed at Chiltonville Cemetery in Plymouth.
