CHEBEAGUE ISLAND AND DURHAM - Angela Jean Weagle, 35, of Chebeague Island and Durham, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2003 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Nov. 17, 1967 in Portland.
Angela held a special place in her heart for the Maine Coast, and spent as much time as possible there with her family and friends.
While she enjoyed her roll as care giver to several Chebeague Island children, she enjoyed nothing more than being a wife and mother to her surviving husband, Erik, and their three sons, Tyler, James, and Ashton Weagle. Angela is also survived by her parents, Gary and Claudia Varney; a sister, Deborah and her husband, Miguel Tomasini; and two brothers, Charles 'Chuck' Varney and Scott Varney and his wife, Christina; as well as a large extended family.
She loved greatly and was greatly loved in return.
A memorial service was held at Angela's favorite oceanside view on August 25.
Angela's family would like to thank the staff of Mercy Hospital for the great care they gave to ensure that Angela would pass with dignity.
The Chebeague United Methodist Church has established a fund named in the memory of Angela Weagle. A donation will help Erik and the children get through the tough days ahead. A donation of a check made payable to Chebeague United Methodist Church with "Angela Weagle Fund" written in the memo may be sent to the Chebeague United Methodist Church, Chebeague Island, ME 04017.
