SCARBOROUGH - Glenn A. Coombs, 57, of Portland passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2018, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, after an unexpected illness. He was the husband of the late Cynthia L. (Burns) Coombs.
He was born in Portland on May 12, 1961, the son of the late Herbert J. and Concetta C. (Romano) Coombs.
Glenn served as a substance abuse counselor for many years as well as a pastor with the United Methodist Church serving on Chebeague Island. He was a caring man who only wanted to help others in their time of need.
He is survived by his daughter, Emma L. Coombs and her fiancé, Joshua R. Harlow, of Portland. He also leaves a sister, Elissa Sanderson; and his two brothers, Gerald and Gil Coombs. He was also a brother of the late Rhonda Lombardo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of his life on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the North Pownal United Methodist Church, 851 Lawrence Road, Pownal, Maine.
