Nancy H. Hubbell

YARMOUTH - Nancy H. Hubbell, 81, of Bluff Road died Nov. 23, 2001, at Brentwood Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Yarmouth.

She was born in new britain, connecticut, a daughter of harold w. and catherine n. Hatch, and graduated from Northfield School in Northield, Mass. and the Grand Central School of Art in New York City. She worked for Vick Chemical Company in New York City and the Stanley Works in New Britain.

She was a member of South Church in New Britain. She married Henry Hubbell on September 29, 1945.

She was a member of the Junior League of New Britain. She was a volunteer at New Britain General hospital and at the New Britain Museum of American Art. She was a devotee of American musical theater and jazz. She was an avid designer and knitter of Irish fisherman sweaters.

She was a long-time summer resident of Chebeague Island, Maine. For many years she was the treasurer of the Chebeague Island Yacht Club. She was a charter member of the Chebeague Island Tennis Club. She volunteered at the Chebeague Island Library.

Surviving are her husband, Henry of Yarmouth and Chebeague Island, a son, Richard of Yarmouth, a daughter, Elizabeth H. Riggs of New York City, and two grandchildren.

There will be no visiting hourse and a family service will be held at its convenience. A memorial service will be held next summer on Chebeague Island.

Memorial contributions may be made to the New Britain Museum of American Art, Lexington Street, New Britain or to the Chebeague Island Library, South Road, Chebeague Island.
