BRUNSWICK - Judith J. Nida, 68, died of breast cancer on Oct. 27, 2007, at her home in Brunswick. She was born on Sept. 15, 1939, in Lima, Peru, the daughter of Robert B. Jarratt, Jr. and Eleanor Bean Jarratt. Judy graduated from Swarthmore (Penn.) High School in 1957 and from Bradford Junior College, Haverhill, Mass., in 1959. Before her marriage of 41 years to Edwin B. Nida, she was married to Gordon K. Vestre of Birmingham, Mich. Judy was devoted to her religion, her family and to perfect strangers. She loved to design and knit sweaters, read voraciously, hold conversations, and watch the Red Sox -- all at the same time. Her love of people was evident in sharing her faith with others.
She was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Edwin, of Brunswick; her children, Eric F. Vestre of Spotsylvania, Va., Kenneth H. Vestre of Edmonton, Alberta, Donald I. Jarratt of Largo, Fla., and Elizabeth H. Jarratt of Chelsea, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; 12 nieces and nephews.
