Loretta L. (Hamilton) Parker, 76

SCARBOROUGH -- Loretta L. (Hamilton) Parker, 76, of Raymond and formerly of Portland died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Lloyd Allen Parker Sr. who died in February 2007.

Loretta was born in Portland on March 22, 1934, first born daughter of the late Leland M. Sr. and Elsie M. (Ross) Hamilton. She grew up on Chebeague Island and raised her own children in Portland. She was the sister of the late Leland M. Hamilton Jr. who died in May 2005.

She was a longtime, devoted member of Central Square Baptist Church in Portland. Loretta was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, never missing a game. She enjoyed reading, going out to dinner and spending as much time possible with family. Wintering in Florida with her husband and sister Lois, she enjoyed gambling on the Big M. She loved to travel, having taken several trips to Alaska, Florida, and New York. She and her husband loved taking their grandchildren to as many theme parks, historical sites and travel destinations as possible.

Loretta was a true Matriarch. Her love for her family defined her, from raising her own children and helping with her grandchildren to anyone who needed support. She took care of her family.
She is survived by her daughter Leslie L. 'Boffie' Toderico and her husband Michael of Gray, her son Lloyd Allen Parker Jr. and his wife Lisa S.C. of Raymond; two sisters Lois Cafmeyer and her husband Robert of Nokomis, Fla. and Holly Jordan of Saco, two brothers Sherman Hamilton and his wife Teri of Yarmouth and Leon Hamilton and his wife Jennifer of Chebeague Island; five grandchildren, Michael Toderico and his wife Jennifer Boggs of New York, NY, Mark Toderico and his wife Daphney Russell of New Gloucester, Taylor, Cory and Jordan Parker of Raymond; two great-granddaughters Ramona Parker Toderico and Bailey Marie Toderico and her former brother in-law Ray Jordan of Dayton and sister in-law Karen Hamilton of Virginia.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, Sept. 13, 2010 from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 p.m. at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford Street, Portland. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Central Square Baptist Church, 4 Brentwood Street, Portland with Pastor Don Drake officiating. Interment will follow in Brooklawn Memorial Park, Congress Street, Portland.
