Kathleen S. Megna

kathyNorth Hampton - Kathleen S. Megna, 59, of North Hampton, passed away Monday, June 21, 2021 at her home with her beloved husband and children by her side after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on September 3, 1961, in Gardiner, ME to her loving mother, Helen M. (Malia) Scott of Exeter and her adoring father, the late John D. Scott.

Kathy was raised in Waterville and Auburn, ME where she graduated from Edward Little High School. Although they didn't know each other at the time, her future husband Mike and she were in the same band in sixth grade in Waterville. Kathy received her bachelor's degree in fashion and merchandising from Westbrook College in Portland, ME and went on to a brief career as an assistant buyer for Jordan Marsh in Framingham, MA.

In 1980 – a truly love at first site for both - she met her soulmate and partner for life, Mike Megna, and they wed in 1985. They enjoyed 41 wonderful, adventurous, fulfilling years together. After short times in Manchester and Bow, NH, they settled in the seacoast area in 1990, where they raised their four children.

Always upbeat and with a smile on her face, Kathy had a zest for living life to its fullest. She was very active in the community; forever volunteering at the school and local organizations. She had a 'let's get it done' attitude and her enthusiasm was contagious for many. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, daily walks with her dog Harvest at the beach; or hiking with her husband.

Undoubtedly the true passion in Kathy's life was her family – raising her children and creating an unconditional loving bond as a family was the most important thing to her. Family parties, dancing with the kids; and crock pot Sundays are when you would see her biggest smiles.

In addition to her mother Helen and husband Mike, Kathy is survived by her four children; son Mike and his wife Sarah of Stratham; daughter Allie (Megna) Simmers and her husband Ben of Hampton Falls; daughter Molly of Denver; and son Luke of North Hampton. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren; Jackson, Lila, and Tenley; sister Susan Scott and husband Art of Hawaii; and sister Beth (Scott) Dreisbach and husband Tom of St. Augustine, FL. She will be missed by her mother and father-in –law Dottie and Nelson Megna; her sisters and brothers–in–law Sue and Al Hemond; Debbie Megna and Andy Beahm; and Sarah and Scott Bakke; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her father, Kathy was predeceased by her brothers David and Christopher.
