Carlton was predeceased by his parents- Bernard R. Nida and Doris A. Doughty; his sister- Priscilla Ferrelli and brother- Edwin Nida. He is survived by his partner Joyce Cox, her son Peter Cox and Tamra Cox. He is survived by his children - Carla J. Nida-Williams and her husband Mark, Alex J, Nida, and Carlene R. Nida-Velazquez and her husband Michael; grandchildren- Joseph Nida , Zachary and Michael Webber, Jaret Cox and Family, Milinda Nida, Michelle Boothby and husband Jason, Curtis Velazquez and partner Crystal Reynolds, Mikaela Eldridge, and Madelyn Mitchell; great grandchildren- Sophia, Elise, Daniel, Mackenzie, Jeremiah, Jordan, Ralphie, Brandon, Brooklyn, Cheyenne, Sequioa, Owen, J.J., Aaronjane. He also leaves behind six nieces and one nephew.
Carlton had a love for the ocean and enjoyed being a lobsterman, he also enjoyed going up to camp, hunting, playing cards, and being with friends and family. He will forever missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of Carlton’s life will held on Saturday Dec. 29, at 2 PM at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt. 22) in Buxton.
Graveside service for Carlton Nida will take place on Saturday, May 11th at the Chebeague Island Cemetery, at 1:00 PM all are welcome to attend.
