It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Maximilion Schaefer (Middleburg, Virginia), who passed away on December 2, 2019, at the age of 17, leaving to mourn family and friends. There will be a gathering for the friends of Max Schaefer and their families, and anyone who would like to show support. Max was a sailing school instructor and friend to many during his summers on Chebeague. Max will be greatly missed. The Chebeague Island Sailing School has a lovely tradition of giving paper plate awards to recognize unique characteristics of the sailors. Join together on Sunday to create paper plate awards and memories of Max. Everyone will have the option to have these plates shared with the Schaefer family.
