Henry K. Snowdon

enryHenry K. Snowdon, 79, of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire passed away on July 24, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Hank was born in Stoneham, Massachusetts on May 17, 1938 to Henry and Rosella Snowdon and grew up in Malden, MA. After graduating from Malden High School in 1956 he served in the U.S. Marine Corps until 1959 as an aviation radio technician. He married Linda Harriman in 1961 and started a family while working and attending Northeastern University where he earned a BS in Electrical Engineering in 1972. Hank spent the bulk of his career at Raytheon Corporation as a missile systems engineer in Bedford, MA, finishing his career in Tucson, Arizona.

While raising his family in Saugus, MA, Hank coached Little League baseball and played in various softball leagues. Upon retiring to Wolfeboro, NH, he was active with the Newcomers Club, the Conservation Committee, the Lions Club, and All Saints Episcopal Church. He was a lifelong Boston sports fan, and enjoyed fishing, golfing, games, keeping the house in shipshape order, and mostly, spending time with family and friends. Hank will be remembered for his dry wit and mischievousness, and for his intelligence, fortitude, and the strong work ethic he held and inspired in others.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and leaves behind his wife of 56 years Linda (Harriman) Snowdon of Wolfeboro, NH; brother Lou Snowdon and his wife Marge of Tyngsboro, MA; son William Snowdon and his wife Carla of Simsbury, CT; daughter Elizabeth Dyer and her husband Mark of Chebeague Island, ME; son Andrew Snowdon and his wife Jeanne of San Diego, CA; and grandchildren Quinn, Brooke, Carly, Cooper, Chloe, Genevieve, Jack, Sheriden and Savannah. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He said that he considered himself blessed to have such a wonderful family.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church in Wolfeboro, NH. In lieu of flowers, please donate in his memory to his nephew Tim’s ALS Fund at https://www.gofundme.com/25962sdw .
