Judith Thibodeau of Stonebrook Village, Windsor Locks left us on Sunday January 25, 2026 to be with her best friend and loving husband Paul. She was born December 27, 1935 in South Portland, Maine, to the late Paul and Phyllis MacVane. Judy was raised on Cliff Island and graduated from Portland High School. After she met and married Paul, they moved to Enfield, CT where they raised their five children. Enfield was her home for 68 years. Judy loved spending time with her family. Camping, hiking, traveling, playing cards, having cookouts, or just hanging out with her children and grandchildren was when she was happiest. She was very proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and attended as many of their sporting events, dance recitals, school plays, graduations, etc. that she possibly could. Judy attended Springfield Technical Community College after all her children completed high school, earning a Certificate for Clerical Office Assistant in 1986. She was employed by King Construction for many years where she enjoyed her work and considered all of her co-workers good friends.
Judy was an avid reader, puzzle builder, and gardener. She received many compliments for her beautiful backyard flower gardens.
Judy is survived by her children: Roger and Dee Thibodeau, Pamela and Jim Machado, Karen and Mike Hanrahan, Ann and Mark Beberman, Mike Thibodeau and his partner Laura Hartigan; her grandchildren: Amy and Stephen Lingley, Brandon Thibodeau, and his partner Meagan LaFountain, Brian and Susie Thibodeau, Jake Thibodeau, Kyle Thibodeau, Nathanial and Becky Hanrahan, Michael and Tesla Hanrahan, Derric Beckham, and his partner Savanna Jackson; her great grandchildren: Carmen Lingley, Charlotte and McCoy Hanrahan, and Hunter Thibodeau. She also leaves behind a sister and brother, Paula and Gordon MacVane; a sister-in-law, Lorraine MacVane, and many nieces and nephews, especially Kendra and Vicki; and many kind, wonderful, helpful, loving friends. Judy was predeceased by a sister and her husband Jeanette and Ken Hamilton; and three brothers; Paul, Jimmy, and Gray MacVane.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Judy on Monday, February 9, 2026 at 11:00 am in St. Martha Church (St. Jeanne Jugan Parish), 214 Brainard Rd. Enfield. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Connecticut Humane Society 701 Russell Rd, Newington, CT 06111 or Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut, 56 Commerce Drive, Trumbull, CT 06611.
