LEWISTON - Frederick M. Munroe, 63,
of Wakefield Street died Wednesday
at a local hospital.
He was born on Chebeague Island,
a son of William and Eloise Hamilton
Munroe, attended Chebeague schools and
graduated from Chebeague High
School.
Mr. Munroe worked at R.C. and Son
Paving and C.N. Brown as a truck driver,
retiring in 1997. On Sept. 2, 1989,
he married Joyce Schmieks.
He was a member of the Acme and National
Clubs of Lewiston. He enjoyed
crossword puzzles, watching football
and auto racing.
Surviving are his wife of Lewiston;
four daughters, Janet Snow of Vermont,
Lorrie Moore of Massachusetts, Susan
Tamphere of New Hampshire and
Kimberly Munroe; a son, Wayne of New
Hampshire; two stepdaughters, Tammy
Trembley of New York and Tracey Ogden
of Winthrop; five stepsons, Scott
Munroe of Vermont, Kevin Ogden of Poland,
Donald Munroe of Lewiston,
Dwight Jr. and Robert Ogden, both of
Lewiston; a half-sister, Sharon Munroe of
Connecticut; a brother, Wilbert of Chebeague
Island; 13 grandchildren and eight
great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held from
7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Plummer and Merrill
Funeral Home, Auburn, followed by a
funeral at 8:30 p.m.
