GORHAM - Mary Ross Newcomb, 76, of Mosher Road, died Friday
at her
home.
She was born in Portland, a daughter of Royal and Winifred
Bennett Ross. She
attended Portland schools and graduated from Deering High School
in 1941.
Mrs. Newcomb was a homemaker and known for her cooking.
She was a member of North Deering Alliance Church of Portland.
Her husband, Alvin L. Newcomb, died in 1993.
Surviving are three daughters, Linda Holmes of South Portland,
Susan Dale of
Brunswick and Alice Cummings of Gorham; three grandchildren and
one great-
grandchild.
Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at
Jones, Rich and
Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St. A funeral service will
be held at 2
p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be Wednesday in
Chebeague Island
Cemetery.
