CUMBERLAND - Lloyd B. Tanguay, 85 , of Chebeague Island died Tuesday at a local hospital following a long illness.
He was born in Portland, a son of Phillippe and Helen Dion Tanguay, attended Portland schools and was a Portland High School graduate.
He served with the 240th AA and the 103rd RCT units of the Maine National Guard.
Prior to retirement, Mr. Tanguay enjoyed 46 years of employment with the C.H. Robinson Paper Co.
Mr. Tanguay will be remembered as a very active resident of Chebeague Island.
His wife, Harriett Bradbury Tanguay, died previously.
Surviving are two sons, Peter L. of Westbrook and David N. of Verginia Beach; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
There will be no visiting hours. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Aug. 16 at St. John the Evangelist Church, Route 1, South Portland. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, Portland.
