Hello to friends old and new!

I want to take a minute of your time to tell you about my latest album, "Winter Sky"...

About a year ago I wrote a song for the Corpsmembers of the California Conservation Corps - http://www.ccc.ca.gov/Pages/default.aspx - entitled "Hard Work, Low Pay", a Woody Guthrie-ish tribute to the young men and women with whom I've been working for almost 15 years now. Based on their tongue-in-check motto - Hard Work, Low Pay, Miserable Conditions and More!", it's becoming the unofficial song of the C.C.C. it seems, and I'm quite proud of that. It's on "Winter Sky" with 9 other original songs.

I've partnered up with the non-profit associated with the C.C.C., The C.C.C. Foundation - http://www.cccfoundation.net/ - to help raise funds which will be used to support the Corpsmembers in many different ways outside of work and after they leave the program. I've financed the recording, duplication and distribution of the CD through CDBaby.com. It is available as a CD on their site and also downloadable as MP3's from I-Tunes and Amazon. I have pledged to donate all the proceeds from sales of "Winter Sky" to the Foundation.

As I'm in the process of retiring, it's sort of a parting gift to a great organization that works to protect the environment and the citizens of California in emergencies. The Foundation will be promoting it, but I also wanted to let all my friends know about it. So check it out. I'm proud of the songs which I hope you'd like to have, and you'd be donating to a good cause...
